WORKOUT OF THE DAY

110208 Tuesday: Breathing Squats round #2

By jerry27 comments

The first 3 minutes of this video is the Dude getting mentally ready, you’ll have to Fast forward to 3minutes to see the action. The end result is worth the watch.

110208 Tuesday

wod1.) Quickly work up  quickly to a heavy double in the back squat. One set every 2:30 x 6sets = 15 minutes. wod2.) 20 rep breathing squat. Compare to 1/28

If you were successful at 20 reps last time add weight, if you weren’t reduce load or try again. If you missed last time suggested load is 75% of 1RM

If you don’t know your 1RM but do know your 2rm, 3rm, or 5rm then plug it into the calculator CLICK HERE

Has something about the blog changed? I can’t leave comments using Mozilla anymore. I need to use IE, and I hate IE.

Felt very good today. Tried to do a HSPU on rings. Could get no lift at all, but I have a new goal.

Back Squats stil dont feel 100% cause of my hip…

wod 1: 270 Deadlift. PR This PR is HUGE for me even though it is only a 5lb jump. Got 265 this time last year and then got injured – had to work my way back up. Feels great!!

    wod 2: 3 round of alt wod – 12:35

    WOD 1: 295 lbs squat x 2 (6th set)

    WOD 2: 205 lbs squat x 20
(jelly legs to begin and struggled with last 5 from a breathing standpoint. Strength held up)

    WOD 1: 160# x 1

WOD 2: Increased weight from last time by 5# to 130# x14

Feeling lightheaded…which doesn’t make it easy for the breathing squats!

140lb backsquats x 2 – second one needed to be lower

20 backsquats at 105 lbs — (increase from 100 lbs last time)

Got all 20 reps @ 150. Took it slow during final 8 reps so that I could breathe. (While I know it was probably annoying as all heck to watch because I was so slow) I found that if I took the time to breathe (recover), I could sense when my body was ready to handle the next rep. I could have done more reps at the slow pace. Weight goes up next time.

    WOD 1: 125# failed at 145#
WOD 2: 105# X 15 The bar slid down and was putting too much pressure on my messed up shoulder so I did not push it. Better to be safe so I can play again tomorrow.

    8 am – row intervals
    noon – mwod
    noon_thirty – back squatting 225 x2 then 175×20
I missed the first time through, so I was cautious. Could have done a little more.

    WOD#1: 275
WOD#2: 205 (12 reps). Was severely light headed after the 10th rep. Got two more reps out before almost blacking out…I saw all kinds of stars (they weren’t pretty). This one really frustrated me, I should have had all 20 reps without much of a problem as this was only about 65% of my 1RM.
Afterparty: Got the last 8 reps at 205.

WOD1: got up to 245, then failed at 265 and 255
WOD2: 20 reps of 185, and apparently #17 was the fastest/best. Can’t wait for my weightlifting shoes to get here.

    WOD 1: 165 x 2 (next time shooting for 185)
WOD 2: 125 x 20 (lower back is tightening up – otherwise should go heavier).
