Today was a great training day!
Working 5×5 FS at a moderately heavy weight (75-85%) was a great test. Since we have been working 5×3 recently on most of our strength components, those extra two reps each set were a good learning lesson for them; that you can always strive and complete one more rep, one more play or one more game. Our met-con today was structured to simulate a game. In games athletes are required to perform a great deal of work for a short period of time, then rest, then complete another set. This happens in almost any sport, playing for a duration, breaking (halftime, quarters or timeouts), then picking right back up where you left off.
