The kids have still been really working hard lately. The last couple weeks have been crazy with Regional’s (CFOT placed 15th in the regional after placing 31st in the Open. GREAT WORK!) and the website upgrade, so sorry for the delay. Now that the website upgrade is moving forward and looks to be a good place, I will get back to blogging on the SportsPerformance class. I will shoot for a post a week that addresses what we are trying to accomplish and what to expect the following week.
Last week I wanted to try and challenge them a little bit more. The first couple months we worked at a good hard pace and saw a lot of positive PRs, increased performance and more importantly they look to be having A LOT of FUN! I wanted to take some of the movements one step further! On Monday we worked a heavy barbell complex of power cleans x3, jerk x3 and then introduced some snatch work. Wednesday we took the barbells away and did a nice, long partner metcon. I love barbells but in sports there are no barbells, they have to be able to move their bodies in space! This week we will work some interval training on Monday and then a barbel partner metcon on Wednesday.
This summer class structure will be a little different. Instead of a set schedule we are doing an a la carte type of program where kids are able to identify what days they will be there in advance. Summer is a hard time to scheudle with all of the competing vacations and some fall sports start kicking into gear!
If you have any questions on the SportsPerformance Program, please fill out the contact form and one of the coaches will get back to you.
