A lot of people have been asking about food choices so I thought it would be cool to share my nutritional journey over the next few weeks. It’s December, the toughest time of year to “eat clean” so it’ll be a challenge and way outta my comfort zone. Many of you know I enjoy my ribeyes, Guinness, bourbon, and cigars!!! I also got a head start on the gaining season by consuming too many ballpark beers during the Nats World Series run!!! Anyhow by documenting this it’ll recharge me and might inspire change in you, maybe we even do a “Zone challenge” in the New Year? So yes, I like the Zone, I think it’s a great place to start for most people, then one can tweak their preferences from there. I’ve used it for 20 years (although it’s been a long while since I went strict). I’ve also introduced a whole lotta people to “the Zone” over the years. Personally I like to move often, have outstanding physical and mental energy, and feel good about myself; being “in the Zone” has always helped with that. I’ll start today, Monday December 2nd and attempt to blog a bit each morning. Current weight 167.2, that’s about 5-7lbs above my ‘lean and mean’ weight. 5-7lbs isn’t much but on a 5’ 7” frame it’s enough to make the clothes a bit tighter, movement a bit tougher, and energy suffer.
I’ll base most of my blocks on the classic CrossFit journal article about the Zone: https://library.crossfit.com/free/pdf/cfjissue21_May04.pdf
